Is DLSS work good in RDR2 in FHD?

Literally today, July 13, the support of DLSS appeared in RDR2, which received … well, not to say that a bad but ambiguous assessment, since there are a lot of comments that DLSS is a complete soap, under different posts quite a lot. I will say right away, I don’t share such thoughts, in many games that I played and in which there is support for this technology, I did not notice a significant deterioration in the image, the exception is Cyberpunk 2077, in which there were a lot of soaps even in the DLSS “Quality” mode

But oh well, I dragged on something with the entry. I want to say that this is my first experience in creating such a material, so I apologize in advance for all mistakes.

There will be few different scenes, since, in my opinion, the fact that I will show will be enough to evaluate the quality of work. At first there will be screenshots made in FHD and stretched out in Photoshop (I’m not a master, and please excuse me for the fact that the scale is slightly different in places)

I spent tests in the in-game benchmark, changes small details from time to time, well, I made screenshots, and did not record the video, because of this the scenes will be slightly different, but not critical.

I have the feeling that the picture is better on the right, but perhaps this is just another moment in which the tree has come further, we move on.

Again, the picture, the differences, the differences (I remind you, it is on the left) from DLSS you can say no, and if there is, then rather in favor of the latter

And here it is already more interesting, since a significant difference is visible. In general, the pictures are the same, but the seller’s face is clearer when the DLSS is turned on, and the hair on his head is clearly not enough smoothing, which is better out of this? I don’t know, I would choose a more soapy face, but hair without pixels.
But that’s not all. We paid attention to the jacket? (or a jacket, I don’t really understand) Take a look, on the right is clearly not enough stripes, but they are, if you look better, but this is not enough. It is interesting that in the cyberpanka, if you put on a green jacket with vertical yellow stripes on the mo, then DLSS eat these strips and guess that they should be there, it was impossible. Probably DLSS algorithms have some kind of problem with this type of clothes, but okay, move on.

Now, I think, it is clear that DLSS works no worse than a game in a native FHD with TAA smoothing.
Of course, you can ask why the comparison is with the TAA, and not with MSAA. I will say this, MSAA is noticeably better than DLSS and TAA, but the FPS and the frame time begin to ride to such an extent that it is simply impossible to play on the clavature mouse, and you need to either lower the settings or play with the TAA.
But I went through the whole game on the TAA, and always admired the beauty and detail of the world, and I consider a comparison with TAA appropriate.

I think there is nothing to say. From the picture to the picture you can see a deterioration, play below the balanced regime I would not.

Yes, the growth of FPS is not as significant as in other games, for example, in the same Control with rays and without DLSS I had a 45 FPS lock, and DLSS – 65
I think that in the RDR2 DLSS for FHD uses resolution above than 1280 × 720, because of this, there is practically no quality loss, but the FPS grows not much. There is one thing, but-with DLSS it is more comfortable, so the fps and time of the frame is not only higher, but more stable, because of this, the game is generally more pleasant, but it is only on the clavature mouse, I think there will be no big differences.
